design & production intern

We are on the lookout for talented, dynamic and creative people to join us on this exciting journey. We are now looking for a proactive Design and Production intern to work alongside the team 4 days a week. This is a fantastic opportunity to join the London-based Head Office (Wapping) of a successful and rapidly growing fashion business. Whilst working at Peachy Den you will be reporting to the Senior Designer and Product Development Manager working on our capsule collections. 

Please note this position does not offer the opportunity to work remotely or from home. Any applicants must be enrolled as a student for the entirety of the placement.

You will be responsible for but not limited to:

  • In house atelier work; tracing and cutting patterns, sewing on a domestic and industrial sewing and overlocking machines 
  • Design support; research, able to sketch, drape and toile new ideas
  • Computer CAD drawing; high level of CAD and photoshop skill
  • Trend research; being highly engaged with pop culture and fashion trends and able to report these into the design team and creative director 
  • Product Development/Production support; admin based tasks, sourcing and running errands
  • Factory visits to our London based factory, dropping off patterns / trims, QC checks
  • Organisation; keeping on top of dedicated admin tasks across both departments
  • General housekeeping and answering calls 
  • Wider team support where needed 

You must have:

  • Some prior experience within a fashion or design related workplace
  • Proactive attitude and ability to manage your own task list 
  • Ability to travel to UK factories and warehouses when needed
